Weeks 3 / 7 - Art of Cooking: in addition to learning fundamental cooking skills, students will get to “play” with their food as we work with a variety of colors, textures, ingredients - with a focus on plating and presentation. We may even throw in some friendly competition, Nailed It style!  Focus for this week is plating, presentation, learning about eating with your eyes, making food look as good as it tastes.

Day 1: Letting food and natural colors speak for themselves when plating, baking fundamentals.

Day 2:    Knife skills, making different doughs, recreating designs for presentation.

Day 3:  Knife Skills, presentation, layering of ingredients.

Day 4: Using herbs for presentation, working with melted chocolate; STEM challenge

Day 5: Putting together skills from the whole week (melted chocolate, knife skills, baking fundamentals)
