Weeks 1 / 5 - Cooking Techniques: slicing, chopping, roasting, pureeing – just like a mini culinary school!  Students will learn how to safely use a knife, food processor/blender, cook in a pan/air fryer and develop the skills and confidence in the kitchen that will last a lifetime...all while having fun!  Focus for this week is to ensure kids learn basic skills to enable independence in the kitchen.

 Day 1: Developing knife skills; learning to use various tools (hand mixer, stand mixer, immersion mixer). 

 Day 2: Learning to use new kitchen tools: spiralizer.  Continue to work on knife skills.

 Day 3:  Learning how to roast veggies; knife skills; understanding flavor combinations

 Day 4: Working with phyllo dough; using oven to “air fry” and crisp; using a blender; baking fundamentals. 

 Day 5: Learning how to use stand mixer with pasta attachment; learning to use various parts of fruit
