Joseph Ortelere (Assistant Manager & Cooking Instructor)

Joseph has been working at The Flavor Labs since January 2022. He began during High School as an assistant and quickly became a passionate cooking Instructor and skilled Assistant Manager. Joseph loves to show new generations of budding chefs around the kitchen and does so with such joy. Currently, he is a student attending Ramapo College. “My favorite hobby is to get myself immersed in new experiences.” That enthusiasm shines in his classes.

Lori Deutsch (Cooking Instructor)

Coming from a family where holiday menus are hotly negotiated well in advance, Lori knew that eventually, all roads lead to the kitchen.

She has worked as a pastry chef, cake artist, personal chef, and instructor. When teaching, Lori demystifies cooking to encourage people to unleash their creativity. She loves working with special needs kids and young adults and is passionate about the therapeutic opportunities in the kitchen. Cooking boosts the confidence of young special needs students to aid them toward independent living.

Lori sees food as a way of bringing people together. Sharing a meal brings joy, camaraderie, and memories.

Laura Cubala (Cooking Instructor)

Laura grew up in River Vale, NJ and has stayed in the local area since graduating form college. She enjoys guiding children in developing their cooking skills while also having fun creating delicious treats at The Flavor Labs!
