2023 Summer Camp @ TFL!
BONUS camp week August 28th just added!

We are excited to announce Summer Camp for both Norwood and Paramus locations!

Similar to our classes, our camp has a mission to change the way children engage with food. Our camp will incorporate elements of science and math, while also harnessing your child’s creativity as we work our way through different ingredients, cuisines and techniques.

Each week-long session will expose children to a wide variety of recipes - and every day will include at least one sweet and one savory dish for the children to eat and/or take home. Snacks and spring water will be provided each day. Recipes will be different across each of our four programs.

We will have camp in two age groups: Mini Chefs (ages 6-9) in our morning camp from 9am-12pm; and Budding Chefs (ages 10-13) in our afternoon camp from 1pm-4pm. See details below for our weekly programming. Enrollment is on a week-by-week basis. Weekly sessions are $419.

The safety of our students and staff is of utmost importance to us.
As such, the age minimum for camp is 6 years old. No exceptions will be made.

10% discount automatically applied for siblings and multi-week bookings!

Summer Camp Programs 〰️

Weeks 1 / 5 - Cooking Techniques: slicing, chopping, roasting, pureeing, – just like a mini culinary school!  Students will learn how to safely use a knife, food processor/blender, cook in a pan/air fryer and develop the skills and confidence in the kitchen that will last a lifetime...all while having fun! Focus for this week is to ensure kids learn basic skills to enable independence in the kitchen.

Weeks 2 / 6 - Baking Bootcamp: pastries, muffins, cookies, cakes, and more! We will work on our baking skills, with each day getting progressively more advanced.  Focus for this week is understanding fundamentals of baking: chemical reactions, leavening agents, and how ingredients work together.

Weeks 3 / 7 - Art of Cooking: in addition to learning fundamental cooking skills, students will get to “play” with their food as we work with a variety of colors, textures, ingredients - with a focus on plating and presentation. We may even throw in some friendly competition, Nailed It style! Focus for this week is plating, presentation, learning about eating with your eyes, making food look as good as it tastes.

Weeks 4 / 8 - Science of Baking: each day students will participate in mini experiments and bake up some delicious treats!  We will be kneading, rolling, scooping, measuring and having fun while we make bread, cake, cookies, and so much more! Focus for this week is to demonstrate the science behind baking by doing experiments with ingredients we also bake with.

Bonus Week: Aug 28 - Nailed It!: For this "bonus" week of camp, students will be exposed to a wide variety of recipes - and every day will include at least one sweet and one savory dish to eat and/or take home. As part of the curriculum, each day campers will be challenged with at least one "Nailed It!" design to replicate.  Somedays it will be the savory dish, somedays the sweet.  Each day will be a surprise! :)
